Border Usage | Use of Border is optional depending on need/use. Borders are typically not recommended when using the PNG formatted logos with transparent backgrounds as the border may also shown with a drop-shadow.
Minimum Size | Full-Logo – No less than 1-1/2” in height is recommended to keep the logo clear and readable. | Compact Logo: No less than 1-1/4” in height is recommended as the tagline becomes very hard to read. |
Clear Space (Padding) | If logos are “trimmed” then add at least 40px (0.4”) minimum clear space around all sides of logo
Application on Photographic Backgrounds | User either the Transparent (PNG) or Non-transparent (JEG, WebP) formatted files depending on what displays best on the background. Try to place logo in an open space on photo if background is a constant color, else if image is very busy maybe add a white or gray box background to logo or use the Non-transparent (JEG, WebP) formatted files.
Resolution | It is highly recommend using the original logo images to retain their respective resolutions when resizing for documents and publications. i.e., Do not copy from other documents or web pages as copies loss resolution and definition. Especially bad when making copies of copies that were copied! Get logo files from the BGS repository shown here. |
