Location
The chapel is gone, but Wesley Chapel Cemetery is still there. It is in Adams County, Colorado, at the Northeast corner of 120th and Huron in Westminster, CO.
Overview
Some of Colorado’s early pioneers founded this burial site as a church graveyard in 1889. Residents actively used the cemetery from 1891-1939. But today, it is a historic location rarely used for new burials.
Burials
Two Union Civil War Veterans are buried there – Ambrose Langston and Theodore Hutchinson. Only nine burials have happened since 1964.
Records Created by Local Genealogists
Rick Davis worked with the Wesley Chapel Cemetery Association to create electronic burial records for the site. His report has these specifics:
- Name of the deceased.
- Born date, death date, grave plot number.
- The plot deeds sold from March 1896 to 1966. These entries name the person who bought the plot.
Carol Darrow and Joan Leaneagh surveyed the cemetery in November 1999. They captured descriptive information about the graves. Including details of additional names carved on the headstones.
Rick’s file is available here.
